Marcel Amorim 

Chief Tech Evangelist, Futurist, Economics and LATAM

Marcel Amorim is a father, husband, and serial entrepreneur with an impressive educational background in economics and political science from Brandeis University, one of the top universities in the United States. He also received a research fellowship at Harvard University, further solidifying his expertise in economic development, educational reform, and the rapid changes facing humanity today.

As a co-founder of Xpaneon Technologies, a pioneering technology company in Germany, Marcel learned firsthand the importance of timing when it comes to innovative and transformative technologies. He has worked as an executive, economist, and technology evangelist in various markets, gaining extensive knowledge of international markets, including Asia, Europe, and North and South America.

Marcel was also a pioneer in the field of digital media and data-driven political campaigns, having worked on some of the largest digital marketing projects in Latin America, from innovative technologies to new ways of presenting products such as coffee, to branding and marketing strategies. With decades of international experience in disruptive new technologies and business models, Marcel's experiences have translated into wisdom, which he now uses to focus on bridging the gap between Brazil and the world and introducing new technologies with the potential to positively impact our planet.

Dr. Makarand “Chips” Chipalkatti 

Chief Mentor and Innovation Advisor

Crux Ventures maintains a special collaboration with renowned Dr. Makarand “Chips” Chipalkatti and his highly qualified international team of consultants, as he is one of the most respected technical authorities worldwide when it comes to LEDs and innovation management in large organizations.

Known as Dr. Chips, he is a great friend, collaborator, and mentor of Marcel Amorim since the early 2000s when they met on an OSRAM-SYLVANIA research project and Siemens GmbH headquarters in Germany to study trends in the Brazilian market.

Since then, they have established a relationship of friendship and professional collaboration, working together on various projects over the years and now focusing on new ventures to connect the world with Brazil and vice versa.

Dr. Chips has been recognized for decades as one of the most respected evangelists of new technologies, from when LEDs were not commercially viable to alternative energy management. In addition, he is recognized for his advisory work with the American government and other countries regarding public policies and technical elements focused on energy and innovation policies. Dr. Chips serves on the board of innovative companies worldwide and continues to serve as a mentor and advisor to Crux Ventures.
